Campaign unites P&G brands Pantene, Head & Shoulders, Herbal Essences and Aussie

My Black is Beautiful (MBIB), a community-building programme run by P&G, has launched a campaign that aims to educate consumers with curly or afro hair.

The #hairtruth campaign features five ‘webisodes’ that will include educational information about how to maintain the health and style of hair. The short videos will be available on myblackisbeautiful.com and the programme’s social media channels.

In the webisodes, stylists sit alongside P&G beauty scientists and discuss the needs of African-American hair. Felicia Leatherwood, a celebrity natural hairstylist, is featured alongside P&G beauty scientist Dr Rolanda Wilerson and Dr Rukeyser Thompson to discuss common issues and pointers faced by women. Products across the P&G hair care portfolio are suggested for use.

Grace Janes, MBIB Brand Manager, said: “MBIB understands that behind every black woman is a story and often times a hair story symbolizes her heritage and personal identity. As women continue to take ownership of this journey, they also seek information to help them achieve optimal results regarding styling and health, and we’re here to guide them.”
