US professional nail and make-up brand Peggy Sage says it intends to open 50 new outlets over the next five years, in both France and the rest of Europe. Three years ago, the firm opened its first French outlet in Lyon, followed by other stores in Lille, Geneva, Valenciennes, Longueness, Givors and Strasbourg. The next 15 cities chosen for the firm’s French expansion are Paris, Reims, Metz, Nancy, Nantes, Rennes, Angers, Brest, Grenoble, Annècy, Clermont-Férrand, Bordeaux, Aix en Provence, Toulouse and Montpellier.

“We are looking for premises of more than 50sqm in prime locations,” the firm’s Commercial Director for France, Emmanuel Genty, told a French newspaper. “We are listening to all opportunities. For several years we have seen a growing demand from the public wishing to obtain professional quality products at an affordable price.”

Peggy Sage sells professional products to the general public at comparatively low prices. The shops will stock over 3,500 skus covering make-up and nail care, and staff will include personalised service sales counsellors. The firm is also beginning a major recruitment campaign for shop staff and trainers to add to its existing 70-odd employees in France and already runs a training centre in Lyon.
