Personal Care and Consumer Healthcare Application Manager

Leading a team of scientists in the development and commercialisation of innovative polymeric solutions

Overview

Revolymer (U.K.) Ltd is looking to employ a Personal Care and Consumer Healthcare Application Manager. You will be responsible for leading a team of scientists in the development and commercialisation of innovative polymeric solutions for cosmetic and personal care and consumer healthcare products.

The successful candidate will ideally have deep knowledge of the structure and biology of skin and hair and their interaction with cosmetic and medical products. You will have an established track record of delivering innovation and product development within cosmetics, personal care and consumer healthcare with considerable experience in project management and innovation.

This role will have both a technical formulation aspect and commercial responsibilities and the successful candidate will report directly to the Chief Technical Officer.

You will have good interpersonal skills, particularly for face-to-face interactions with customers, building successful relationships which engage customers with our product and technology platforms and result in commercial successes.

Importantly, the successful candidate will also be a Team Player – with good management skills to lead, develop and mentor the team, creating and leading programs of work while managing challenging deadlines. You will be adaptive to changing priorities in this fast-paced environment, with a degree/diploma or equivalent in a science-based discipline and will be able to travel.

Main Role

  • To provide the technical leadership for Revolymer’s emerging personal care and consumer healthcare business, identifying, initiating and developing new applications for Revolymer’s polymer portfolio and identifying growth areas for future development
  • To work with the Business Development manager to commercialise projects, providing technical expertise and “know-how”
  • To identify new commercial partners for joint venture opportunities, presenting technical capabilities to both customers and at technical conferences
  • To work with the Innovation Team and Business Development to identify new areas for growth
  • To manage and develop a team of scientists; developing people, skills and capabilities
  • To communicate progress and potential to the Senior Management Team, advising on strategy and growth potential within the personal care and consumer healthcare area.
