Regulatory Manager, Personal Care

Accountable to the Head of Regulatory Assurance, CPI EMEA for providing a high level of expertise and guidance, on a global basis, to the Personal Care (PC) segment of the Consumer Care (CC) Business Unit.

In addition to advice and guidance to the PC Business Team, the role involves effective customer support and management of substance or other regulatory issues, development and delivery of the global regulatory programme for PC, and support of a regulatory compliant culture.

Role Summary

Accountable to the Head of Regulatory Assurance, CPI EMEA for providing a high level of expertise and guidance on a global basis to the Personal Care (PC) segment of the Consumer Care (CC) Business Unit. In addition to advice and guidance to the PC Business Team, the role involves effective customer support and management of substance or other regulatory issues, development and delivery of the global regulatory programme for PC, and support of a regulatory compliant culture.

Primary Role Responsibilities

  1. Manage the development and delivery of the regulatory programme for Personal Care whilst providing an efficient service that is responsive to both internal and external customers and compliant with relevant laws.
  2. Provide expert advice/guidance to the PC Business Team assuring compliance of new product initiatives with regulatory requirements. 
  3. Manage defense activities for specified active substances/ingredients under review by national or regional authorities. 
  4. Support the innovation pipeline by providing regulatory screening of development candidates.
  5. Manage the provision and interpretation of regulatory information to both internal and external customers.
  6. Provide guidance and direction for responding to regulatory developments.
  7. Manage and maintain relationships with key industry trade bodies, industry consortia and regulatory agency officials
  8. Maintain expertise in relevant EU regulations on personal care and a good working knowledge for other regions to ensure delivery of a high standard of service.

Qualifications

Post graduate or degree qualification ( ideally Life Sciences, or Chemistry based).

Experience

Industrial experience in regulatory affairs including Personal Care.  An excellent knowledge of the EU regulatory framework is required and, in addition, a good working knowledge of regulation in other regions (America’s and Asia Pacific).
