The manufacturing company anticipates that the continuous extraction facility will boost production capacity by 200%

Sabinsa Corporation, a manufacturer and marketer of phytonutrients, Ayurvedic herbal extracts and specialty fine chemicals, has begun construction on a 5,000 square foot, US$5m continuous extraction facility expansion project at its site in Dobaspet, which it predicts will increase production capacity by 200%.

Sabinsa Founder, Dr Muhammed Majeed, oversaw the groundbreaking ceremony on 12 December 2013. “While we are primarily known for investing heavily in science and IP, we clearly also invest in insuring a sustainable supply of our proprietary ingredients to the marketplace," said Majeed. “Our farm cultivation programme was the first part of the sustainability endeavor, and this expansion is part two."

The manufacturing plan will feature a 25 MT per day capacity continuous extractor, a 15,000 square foot downstream facility, a state of the art microbiology lab and a 45,000 square foot warehouse. The facility is expected to be completed in mid-2014.
