Make-up and perfume have boosted the luxury cosmetics market in the US, according to a survey by market analyst NPD.

 

The US prestige beauty market reached $16bn in sales in 2015 - a 7% increase on 2014 figures. Make-up came in at the head of the pack with a 13% sales rise, while fragrance grew by 4%, outperforming skin care at 3%.
