Sederma has created a new skin smoothing active designed to stimulate hyaluronic acid neosynthesis

Sederma, an active ingredients developer, has created a new skin smoothing active designed to stimulate hyaluronic acid (HA) neosynthesis and sustain its turnover.

The active, Optim Hyal, was designed to restore the optimal level of HA in the skin to make it look smooth, while moisturising at the same time. Optim Hyal, which is obtained by biofermentation, contains Glycokines, specific signalling oligosaccharides, which structurally and functionally mimic the hyaluronic fragments found in skin.

These Glycokines have been shown to stimulate HA synthesis on both keratinocytes (+40%) and fibroblasts (+35%) for a visible improvement in skin smoothness, moisture and suppleness in one month of use.

In addition, the company said, Optim Hyal complies with the Chinese regulation for cosmetic ingredients. Optim Hyal is designed to be applied in body care and face care products.
