Sephora announces plans to expand presence in Spain with eight more stores over the coming months

Sephora (LVMH) has announced plans to expand its presence in Spain with eight more stores over the coming months.

The first three stores opened in July in Andalucía, Cataluña and Galicia, including a 300sqm shop in Granada and outlets in Barcelona and Pontevedra. The retailer hopes to finish the year with a total of 112 points of sale in the country, including Sephora stores and Sephora spaces in El Corte Inglés, and aims to double turnover in the next five years.

“One of the strategies of Sephora is to grow in the major cities of Spain, selecting the best locations and taking maximum care of both the image and the product offer of the stores to offer consumers a truly unique and unforgettable beauty experience,” said Francisco Álvarez, Director General of Sephora Spain. “Sephora Spain is one of Europe's best performing markets. The Spanish consumer is a modern woman, who is caring and always looking for innovation. For this reason, our commitment to offer the best selection of beauty meets this demand.”

The French retailer launched in the US in 1999 and Canada in 2003 and this year announced its entry into Australia. The company has been part of LVMH since 1997 and has more than 2.000 points of sale in 57 countries.
