'Digital celebrities' invited to use on-site facilities and equipment

US make-up brand Smashbox Cosmetics has teamed up with digital entertainment company Collective Digital Studio to launch a programme that allows ‘media style influencers’ to use the brand’s Smashbox Studios in LA at no cost.

The Made at Smashbox programme will see digital celebrities – such as vloggers and YouTube personalities – use state-of-the-art camera equipment, lighting systyems and customisable green screens to shoot content alongside big names from the film and music industries.

Those who use the studio will also be supported by a personal development team and production crew as well as make-up artists.

Smashbox Studios Founder Davis Factor, who later launched Smashbox Cosmetics in 1996, said: “Innovation is part of the Smashbox DNA. For more than 20 years Smashbox Studios has been the go-to destination for the world’s best photographers, stylists and make-up artists. We want to continue this tradition and empower the next generation of creative influencers.”

In addition to the studio and services, Smashbox will also host photo and video workshops led by Factor himself and other LA photographers and directors.

As an added extra, those who take part in the programme are being invited to mix a completely custom lip gloss in whatever shade they desire; Smashbox has committed to producing 100 glosses for them to take away afterward they have finished.
