Soliance and CPL Aromas battle DHA odour 3-Aug-2011

During the self-tanning process an unpleasant odour is generated by the Maillard reaction. In response, Soliance and CPL Aromas have created Vegetan FL Creation, a solution to cover odours generated by DHA. Using CPL Aromas’ expertise, the odour-causing molecules are identified by thermal desorption then neutralised using Aromaguard technology. Soliance then developed a blend of liquid DHA, Aromaguard fragrance, agro-surfactant (APP) and solubilisers to create a ready-to-use premix.

When tested on 12 volunteers, Vegetan FL Creation showed the same colouration performance as DHA alone and all the testers noticed the absence of unpleasant smell.
