French biotech laboratory Sollice Biotech has obtained its first tranche of inward investment to enable it to expand. The €750,000 of funding was supplied by Charente-Périgord Expansion – part of the Crédit Agricole banking group that specialises in funding local startups; local development agency Aquitaine Création Innovation; and venture capital firm Aqui-Invest.

The funds will be used to install more industrial equipment at the company’s Prigonrieux site, as well as create new jobs. At its inception, the company’s founders intended to create 50 new jobs within five years. Sollice currently employs around 20 people and expects to recruit another 10 by the end of 2016.
