Tube supplier unveils three-part plan and new logo

Plastic and laminate tube specialist the Soupletube Group has unveiled its new sustainable growth project. Its strategy, says Soupletube, is structured around three main axes: the implementation of a sustainability charter; the launch of a product innovation programme; and the creation of new services to better assist customers on new product development.

Under the charter, between 2011 and 2013, Soupletube promises to cut raw material consumption by 250 tonnes and reduce energy and water (by 20%), consumables for daily use (by 50%), and fuel consumption (by 20%). It also hopes to offer a complete range of tubes and bottles made with recycled raw materials, as well as a 20% average weight decrease on all products.

In addition, more than 5% of the company’s turnover will be invested in a product innovation programme focusing on three areas, namely raw materials reduction and recyclability, formula protection, and the enhancing of customers brands and products through artwork, cap shapes etc.

Meanwhile, new services will include the supply of small quantities of decorated tubes and bottles for consumer tests or product launch shows; simulation and mock-ups; and consumer tests to understand people’s perception of the packaging.

Finally, Soupletube has also launched a new logo comprising a green ‘Souple’ combined with a grey ‘tube’ to symbolise sustainability and technology. An extended ‘S’ framed with grey squares is said to suggest agility and discipline.
