Svelta tan aims to change the image of self-tanning

Published: 22-Sep-2015

Self-tanning is undergoing a renaissance of sorts as more consumers than ever before turn to safer skincare solutions. Advances in products, stricter indoor tanning regulations and increasing awareness of skin cancer is leading significant marketplace growth and inspiring several emerging independent brands in the sunless space.

One recently launched line out of Scottsdale, Arizona aims to seize on this growing international popularity and take sunless tanning in a new direction with a unique “all-in-one solution” designed for the luxury market. Introduced by Svelta Skincare, the Svelta Tan Skin Perfecting Self-Tanner takes a multidimensional approach that targets several skin concerns simultaneously with high-end botanical ingredients typically found in luxury skincare.

Colour remains a core focus of the brand, with Ecocert-certified DHA as the active ingredient and a unique mineral pigment guide colour. Where Svelta Tan diverges is in its inclusion of anti-ageing, smoothing, healing, hydrating and firming botanicals,  including hyaluronic acid, poppy seed extract, guarana, camu camu, sacred lotus and many others, all designed to target specific concerns.

Founder Moe Kittaneh says of the line, “We sought to develop a product that streamlined head-to-toe skincare and targeted the higher-end beauty consumer, while providing natural-looking colour that people could feel good about using. The ingredients in Svelta Tan were hand-selected to target the most common concerns, delivering a flawless, buildable tan and supporting healthier looking skin with each use.”

SVELTA Tan also recently made the shortlist in the Pure Beauty Awards 2015 Sun Care and Tanning category. The Pure Beauty Awards categories are open to the public for voting until September 21.
