This year's TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes, held from 20 to 25 October, was abuzz with activity. Of the 464 exhibiting companies at the show, which is the biggest forum for the global duty free and travel retail industry, 46 were new or returning. Within the Fragrances and Cosmetics category, the exhibition attracted 126 exhibiting companies, making it the most well-represented category at the show.

Despite this, the category's continued dominance in the industry has not been achieved without doing things a little differently. Over the past year, a number of key players have moved away from traditional fragrance launches to explore new areas such as colour cosmetics, beauty gadgets and services to cater to the increasingly demanding global consumer.
