The brand has launched a new skin care line based on the Indigo plant

US skin care brand Tatcha has launched a new skin care line based on the Indigo plant. The new Indigo line contains three skus, and launched into stores in late January.

The brand, which takes inspiration from Japanese geisha beauty rituals, was inspired by the way in which the country’s samurai warriors often wore Indigo-dyed cotton beneath their armour to help heal and protect their skin.

The new line uses the Indigo plant as its key ingredient; the botanical is known to be effective in treating dermatitis and other skin conditions. It comprises a Soothing Silk Hand Cream, Soothing Silk Body Butter and Soothing Renewal Treatment, which range in price from $38 to $98. The products also contain other actives such as green tea, pearl, rice, red algae and camellia flower.

The new line will be available at three Barneys locations in the US, as well as nine Joyce stores in Hong Kong and through Tatcha.com.
