The Perfume Shop names Chanel No.5 most iconic scent

Customers select top 10 fragrances for National Perfume Day

Leading perfume retailer The Perfume Shop has named the timeless classic, Chanel No.5, as the number one most iconic fragrance as voted by its customers for National Perfume Day (Thursday 14 April).

Chanel also bagged second place with Chanel No.5’s younger sister Coco Mademoiselle. Thierry Mugler also featured heavily in the list with its distinctive Alien and Angel fragrances making it into third and fourth place.

The top 10 list also featured Paco Rabanne One Million, Armani Si, Hugo Boss Bottled, Calvin Klein Eternity, Marc Jacobs Daisy and Dior Miss Dior.

The Perfume Shop also asked its customers to choose for their all-time favourite fragrance bottle design and Jean Gaultier’s iconic Classique bottle took first place with 10% of customers voting for it.

Thierry Mugler was also successful with the striking Angel bottle coming third. Marc Jacobs was also a big winner taking second place with its popular Daisy scent, third place with the luxurious handbag design of Decadence and sixth place with the ladybird-inspired Dot.

The Perfume Shop is celebrating National Perfume Shop by asking customers to share images of their own perfume collections with @theperfumeshop on Twitter using the hashtag #wherewillittakeyou.
