As non-essential shops re-open on 12 April, the A.S. Watson-owned retailer will offer Covid-19 safety measures including sneeze screens and hand sanitiser stations

As non-essential retailers throughout the UK prepare to welcome customers back through their doors when restrictions are lifted this Monday, The Perfume Shop is celebrating the occasion with the opening of a new flagship in Fosse Park, Leicester.

Opening its doors on 12 April, the A.S. Watson-owned retailer is putting customer safety first with social distancing measures, sneeze screens and hand sanitiser stations, which will be employed throughout the latest Leicester store as well as the 169 other locations set to re-open on the same day.

The company is also trialling a new in-store appointment system, allowing customers to book in for a 30-minute perfume consultation with one of the brand's experts.

Cathy Newman, Marketing & Customer Experience Director at The Perfume Shop, commented: “We are thrilled to be reopening so many of our stores and welcoming our perfume people back to work this month and so excited to be able to open a brand-new store after what’s been such a challenging year.”

Visitors to the new store will also be able to enjoy services such as free gift wrapping and personalised ribbon printing to add a unique touch to their perfume purchases, while browsing The Perfume Shop's selection of new and best selling fragrances.

The retailer's plans for welcoming customers back safely follow its implementation of 'extensive' social distancing rules last summer, which were introduced when The Perfume Shop re-opened after the initial UK-wide lockdown due to Covid-19.

The new measures saw the fragrance specialist introduce a 'one in, one out' queuing system to avoid overcrowding, while its in-store testers were restricted to staff and cleaned after every use.
