Two thirds of British women have separate 'everyday' and 'special occasion' make-up but don't use the pricier items often enough to justify their price, according to a survey undertaken by Voucher Codes Pro.

The findings reveal that British women own a mixture of budget and premium make-up items. Two thirds of women admit to only using the expensive brands occasionally, leaving around £130 worth of make-up going to waste.

The survey was conducted as part of an ongoing study into how women in the UK spend money on beauty. A total of 2,407 British women aged 18 and older were quizzed by the company.
