Chemical distributor grows presence to service an expanded agreement with Dow Corning

Chemical distributor Univar has announced that it intends to grow its personal care and household and industrial cleaning businesses in North Africa. The company will establish entities in Algeria, Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia to service an expanded agreement with silicone specialist and Univar supplier Dow Corning. Univar says it will be setting up legal entities, recruiting local sales and customer service representatives and establishing business with customers manufacturing in these countries over the coming months. According to the distributor, the development demonstrates its commitment to growing its presence in North Africa. Univar also notes that it has already gained significant experience selling into the region through exports from France, Spain and the UK. “This project is a fantastic opportunity to further strengthen Univar’s personal care and household and industrial cleaning businesses. We hope that other key suppliers will be enthusiastic to work with us in this geography,” added Matthew Ottaway, Univar’s supplier director, personal care EMEA.
