Elizabeth Arden celebrates milestone with new Elizabeth Taylor fragrance

Elizabeth Arden has celebrated the 25th anniversary of one its most popular fragrances – Elizabeth Taylor White Diamonds. The brand celebrated the milestone with a toast to Taylor and her contribution to the beauty and fragrance industry lead by actress Eva Longoria.

Scott Beattie, Chairman, President and CEO at Elizabeth Arden, commented: “Elizabeth Taylor was a true visionary. She launched a successful fragrance empire at a time when celebrity fragrances were rare. It was because of this extraordinary foresight that Elizabeth Taylor White Diamonds is one of the most successful franchises of all time with more than $1.5bn in sales and counting.”

Co-host Longoria told attendees: “I’m thrilled to help celebrate 25 years of this incredible fragrance. Elizabeth Taylor is a legendary icon and humanitarian and I’m honoured to be part of this wonderful evening. Diamonds are a rare and precious jewel as was Ms Taylor. She exuded confidence and radiance in everything she did from her contributions to film, to her extraordinary work with The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation to her successful fragrances. She is one to admire.”

White Diamonds Night is now available at Macy’s in the US. The scent is said to have top notes of mandarin, bergamot and apricot with a floral heart and a sandalwood, velvet and patchouli base. A portion of Taylor’s royalties from the sales of White Diamonds and other House of Taylor fragrances are donated to The ElizabethTaylor AIDS Foundation.

Taylor died in 2011 after and lengthy and well-celebrated career in film. She began acting as a child in the early 1940s and was known for her roles in National Velvet, Father of the Bride, Cleopatra and Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
