Perfumer Patricia de Nicolaï is introducing her new creation, Cuir Cuba Intense, on 24 October.
Inspired by the ‘colourful and sunny’ island of Cuba where tobacco leaves are cultivated, de Nicolaï says of the scent: “When I was a child, I appreciated when I was asked to go and collect the cigar box. What a pleasure to open it and to smell these delicate scents... it was a fragrance that really transported me. I have found this scent in my lab thanks to the tobacco leaf absolute, the starting point of Cuir Cuba Intense.”
It is a tobacco-leather combination with a liquorice base and a floral heart of magnolia and ylang.
Top notes include Sicilian lemon, fuzzy mint and anise; while the floral heart is accented with lavender and coriander. Base notes of patchouli, tobacco, liatrix, musc and civet nestle on an animalic background with hay essence.
Cuir Cuba Intense is priced at €158 for a 100ml spray and €53 for 30ml.
It will be available in all Nicolai boutiques and online.
