CoValence Laboratories is promoting the positive benefits of benzyl peroxide (BPO) with two finished products. The ingredient is said to have mild anti-inflammatory and comedolytic effects and is the most cost effective topical drug used in acne treatment currently available, according to the company.
The contract manufacturer has tapped into the resurgence in popularity for the ingredient with On Target (BPO Cleanser), an anti-blemish cleanser formulated with 10% BPO. Magic Marker BPO Spot Treatment meanwhile contains 5.25 BPO and is claimed to help reduce blemishes while promoting healthy cell renewal. The treatment does not leave a residue on the skin after application so make-up can be easily applied, says CoValence.
