Packing just got faster, says Fanuc 31-Aug-2010

Packaging |

Following the launch of Fanuc Robotics Europe’s first lightweight parallel link design robot, the 0.5kg M-1iA, the company has introduced a big sister product, the M-3iA, a compact 6kg parallel link arm robot designed for high speed assembly and packaging.

The M-3iA, which is available in four or six axes configurations, features a cylindrical work envelope (0.5m deep with 1.35m diameter) making it straightforward to position and guard.

In addition, all joint motors are positioned away from the wrist, which avoids exposing them to high acceleration and aggressive materials.

The four axes version has wrist speeds of 4000º per second, with a wrist speed of 2000º per second for the six axes version. Both boast a repeatability of 0.1mm.
