Charity creates its own male fragrance

Five war veterans have worked with the Help For Heroes charity to create a new fragrance. At least £3 from the sale of each bottle will be donated to the charity which supports injured members of the armed forces and their families.

The scent was created by veterans Steve McCulley, Dan Richards, Clive Smith, Corbin Mackin and Karl Hinett (pictured), who have all been affected by life changing injuries or illness as a result of serving in the British Armed Forces.

Help for Heroes, Xtreme, The Fragrance (£35) is said to have top notes of bergamot, lemon and basil; a heart of fern with a hint of leather; and a base of moss, amber, vanilla and tree resin.

Mackin commented: “From the first splash of our finished fragrance I was hooked. It’s the sort of fragrance that smells gorgeous on everyone who tries it, and has real lasting power too.”

The scent was created in partnership with fragrance house CorinCraft. Robin Taylor, Managing Director at CorinCraft, said: “We are incredibly proud to be associated with Help for Heroes. We are in awe of the amazing work that they do to support British servicemen and women injured in the line of duty. We hope that Xtreme, the Fragrance, will help raise further awareness and the sales will raise valuable funds to support this remarkable charity.”

Help For Heroes, Xtreme, The Fragrance launched in Debenhams last year. Its initial stock was said to have sold out within five days of its launch. The fragrance is available exclusively with the retailer until 14 February, after which it will be made available to other retailers.
