Online retailer ASOS has expanded into voice-activated shopping in partnership with Google.

The move will allow shoppers in the UK and the US to purchase products using just their voice and a series of commands.

The technology enables ASOS customers to interact with the retailer’s chatbot Enki, which it launched on Facebook Messenger earlier this year, and either the Google Assistant app on a smartphone or a Google Home smart speaker.

Using commands such as: “Hey Google, talk to ASOS”, users will be able to purchase products from six of the e-tailer’s best-selling categories.

More categories are planned, following initial feedback.
