AkzoNobel Global Personal Care launches new styling polymer

Combines high performance with greater sustainability

More and more, demand is growing for styling polymers that are high performing as well as more environmentally sustainable. In response AkzoNobel Global Personal Care is introducing Biostyle CGP, a new hair fixative polymer that provides styling performance as good as or better than market leading synthetic polymers for gels and other styling aids. Biostyle CGP polymer is more than 50% natural in its composition.

Biostyle CGP polymer (INCI: Maltodextrin/VP copolymer) obtains its high performance by combining synthetic and natural components in a unique hybrid technology. A complement to AkzoNobel’s product offerings to the styling market, Biostyle CGP polymer provides crystal clear styling gels that perform as effectively as market leading polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) or VP/VA polymers in terms of gel properties, performance and aesthetics.

Biostyle CGP polymer is the first naturally derived styling polymer that allows formulators to create more sustainable and renewable styling products without any compromise on cost, gel clarity, product aesthetics or on hair performance.
