Albéa, a long-time contributor to the success of Dior lipsticks, has successfully helped write a new page in this luxury brand's history with the new Rouge Dior.

Albéa’s most advanced technology is used for the lipstick's finishing and manufacturing processes. The result is a lipstick that is the worthy heir to the classic Rouge Collection it replaces.

This latest success has been built on a complex design, and incorporates the supplier’s expertise in hot stamping and injection. In addition, the lipstick features the Albéa’s R2000 mechanism.

High technology elements behind Rouge Dior

For this square-shaped lipstick, enhanced with a luxurious silver ring re-creating the famous printing effect of the Miss Dior purse, Albéa has deployed its full range of technical skills to develop "fashion-design" finishes:

  • A new Dior dark blue, based upon proprietary Albéa processes, was developed
  • Fluting, a motif reminiscent of the famous Miss Dior purse, is given an haute couture finish. Achieved by injecting loaded matter, it gives the case a contemporary, fashionable appearance.
  • The jewel-like, engraved finish makes this lipstick exceptional.. A shiny silver metallized ferrule adorns the case, with engraving that gives an elegant signature to this ferrule. The top and interior of the cap utilizes a silver hot stamping as a setting for engraving. In addition, the cap and base have been weighted, in order to give the lipstick the heft of a precious object.
  • The shine of the entire pack is obtained by applying an ultra-resistant protective transparent varnish, which underscores the depth of the colors and enhances the case.

Exclusive Albéa know-how

To design Rouge Dior, Albéa developed a specific, in-line manufacturing process, and met a number of technical challenges:

  • Hot stamping: for the engraving of the top of the cap; Albéa developed a specific, in-line hot stamping machine
  • Skills in injecting loaded matter, while preserving depth of color
  • A new dedicated automatic specific assembly and decoration machine in-line with injection was developed for this lipstick
  • Creation of an invisible part line for joints and sharp engraving.

As with all Dior lipsticks, the R2000 mechanism by Albéa, acknowledged throughout the industry for its smooth operation, was specified for this newest lipstick from Dior.
