The beauty packaging firm has pursued circular economy in its work ethic

US beauty packaging firm Aptar is one of the most sustainable companies in America, according to investment platform Barron’s.

The Illinois-based company ranked 48 on the third annual 100 Most Sustainable Companies list.

Barron’s has designed the list to support investors on factors that affect investment risk and performance.

“We are honoured to be among the top 50 of Barron’s 100 Most Sustainable Companies, recognising our commitment to creating a more sustainable future,” said Stephan Tanda, Aptar President and CEO.

“We believe that strong governance and responsible behaviour are essential to long term success and we continue to pursue an inclusive workplace, embrace climate-focused practices and further a circular economy where plastic is reused and recycled.”

To determine the rankings, Barron’s partnered with investment company Calvert Research and Management, to assess the 1,000 largest publicly held companies across five categories: shareholders, employees, customers, planet and community.
