Gustavo Arnal
Avon has announced the appointment of Gustavo Arnal as its new CFO, effective spring 2019.
Arnal will replace Jamie Wilson, who has chosen to step down to pursue other business opportunities.
Currently, Arnal serves as Senior VP for Walgreens Boots Alliance and was formerly CFO for beauty heavy weight P&G, where he worked for more than 20 years.
Working at Avon, he will also serve as its Executive Vice President, reporting directly to Jan Zijderveld, Avon’s CEO, who is “delighted” with the appointment.
Zijderveld said: “We expect to benefit from Gustavo’s operational experience in leading change in large regions and categories, while developing and driving robust financial performance.
“Gustavo joins us at a critical time, as we continue to build Avon into the digital social selling beauty company for the future.”
Arnal added: “I was attracted to Avon by the recently announced transformation plans that demonstrate a clear vision and strategy to deliver results in growing beauty categories, emerging markets and the direct selling industry.”
The direct selling brand has suffered a turbulent year with falling sales, job losses and the closure of its New York office.
However, it has expanded its philanthropic initiatives to work more closely with Cancer Research UK and Coppafeel!.
