BASF strengthens presence in sub-Saharan Africa with new application lab in Nigeria

New laboratory will focus on technical service for ethnic African skin and hair applications

Chemical company BASF is to expand its presence in sub-Saharan Africa with the opening of a new application laboratory for personal care in Lagos, Nigeria .

The new lab will be serve as an integral part of BASF’s new regional headquarters for West Africa and will focus on the needs of the personal care industry in all countries in sub-Saharan Africa.

BASF has announced it intends to broaden its technical service for ethnic African hair and skin care applications, while strengthening its local sales force and network of distributors.

“The sub-Saharan African personal care market is growing fast and holds great potential,” commented Dirk Mampe, Vice President of Personal Care Solutions Europe at BASF. “With increased presence in the region, we can be more responsive to the market and serve individual customer needs.”
