The make-up brand is urging consumers to return the product to their nearest Benefit Cosmetics stockist

Benefit Cosmetics is recalling its Gimme Brow Eyebrow Gel – one of its leading products.

According to the brand, no complaints have been received from consumers but it is issuing the recall over quality concerns.

Benefit has not disclosed what is wrong with the product, but said “that recent batches of the product did not meet our stringent quality standards.”

Consumers are being advised to return products to their nearest Benefit Cosmetics retailer.

If applied to the eyebrow, users are not at risk. However, if Gimme Brow comes into contact with the eye itself, irritation could occur.

The product has now been pulled from several major retailers including Boots, Ulta and Sephora.

However, Benefit Cosmetics has confirmed that Gimme Brow is not being discontinued and it is working hard to “bring back Gimme Brow as soon as possible".

Gimme Brow was launched last year as part of the company’s Benefit Brow Collection, an expanded range of 13 eyebrow products.

Other skus in the range include Ka-Brow gel colour, Browvo! conditioning primer, the Brow Zings taming and shaping and 3D BROWtones highlighter, as well as a selection of brow tools.

Benefit has promoted the collection throughout the year with several pop-up events, such as its Glaston-Brow drive-thru service at Glastonbury Festival this summer.

Most recently, it offered shoppers in London and Liverpool complimentary Gimme Brow samples and brow treatments as well as cocktails in its 1970s-themed Studio ‘76 nightclub pop-up.
