BioAmber and Brenntag ink distribution partnership for the Americas

Forms part of the commercial development of BioAmber’s Bio-SA line in the region


Renewable chemicals company BioAmber Inc. has partnered with Brenntag to distribute BioAmber’s bio-based succinic acid and derivatives in the Americas.

BioAmber currently supplies its commercial Bio-SA product line, which includes bio 1,4-butanediol, to the region from its facility in France, but is expanding its capacity in the Americas with a new plant in Sarnia, Canada, which is due to begin operations in 2014. It is believed the partnership will help accelerate the commercial development of BioAmber’s Bio-SA in North America and other markets.

Babette Pettersen, BioAmber’s Chief Commercial Officer, said: “Brenntag is the global leader in chemical distribution and we are confident that its broad market reach, technical expertise and logistic capabilities will accelerate our commercial success in the Americas.”
