CEW (UK) unveils 2013 award winners

Over 300 products across 25 categories were in the running


A host of beauty brands, ranging from niche to mainstream, have been named winners at this year’s CEW (UK) Beauty Awards. The winners, announced at the InterContinental hotel in London’s Park Lane, were the result of votes from almost 700 beauty industry insiders who assessed over 300 products across 25 categories.

Taking out Best New Women’s Fragrance was Elie Saab’s Le Parfum Eau de Toilette, while Beckham’s The Essence won Best New Celebrity Fragrance (mass or prestige).

British skin care brand Liz Earle meanwhile, celebrated two wins after taking home Best Classic Beauty Product for its Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser in addition to Best New Makeup Product for Face for its Sheer Skin Tint.

In the premium make-up category, Estée Lauder won the Best New Everyday Facial Skincare Product award for Estée Lauder Daywear B.B. Anti-Oxidant Beauty Benefit Crème while Benefit Cosmetics won Best New Makeup Product for Eyes or Lips for its They're Real! mascara.

In the mass make-up category, Bourjois won Best New Makeup Product for Eyes or Lips for the second year in a row with its Queen Attitude Khol Kajal. Max Factor, on the other hand, was awarded Best New Makeup Product for Face for its All Day Flawless 3 in 1 Foundation.

There were also some new winners, including Melvita for its Rose Nectar range, who won the Eco Beauty Award. Oil based products were also found to be popular this year, including the Rejuvenating Frankincense Facial Oil from Neal's Yard Remedies which was awarded Best New Certified Organic Skincare Product (Mass or Prestige) and Divine Oil from Caudalie which was named Best New Bath and Body Product.
