COSMOS launches certification process
Call for brands to apply
The founders of the COSMOS-standard AISBL for organic and natural cosmetics have announced the opening of the application process for the standard.
All members and licensees of BDIH, COSMEBIO, ECOCERT, ICEA and the Soil Association, the five founders of the new standard, are now invited through their linked certification bodies to apply for application. The five groups have been working to harmonise their individual certification schemes to comply with the COSMOS standard.
“In 2002 the founding organisations recognised that both the cosmetics industry and the cosmetics market are international and that companies and consumers would be best served by a single standard,” commented Francis Blake, president of the board of COSMOS-standard AISBL. “As a result the application for certification to COSMOS-standard is now open for members and licensees of the five founders through linked certification bodies.”
