The Centre for Process Innovation (CPI), a UK innovation centre for process manufacturing, is investing in a new project that uses the study of microfluidics to test and control the stability of product formulations, in a first for the cosmetics industry.

Microfluidics is the science of controlling and manipulating the flow of fluids constrained to small spaces, typically of less than a millimetre.

The project, called Microstar, aims to use a microfluidic chip to help formulators
