Carolina Herrera pays homage to lapis lazuli with new fragrance launch

The new brand describes the gemstone as a ‘timeless emblem of success’

The eponymous beauty brand of Venezuelan fashion designer Carolina Herrera has revealed a new fragrance in its portfolio inspired by lapis lazuli.

The new Saffron Lazuli scent (£235), is housed in a dark blue flacon with gold and black glints in order to evoke the colours of the gemstone.

Meanwhile, the fragrance is infused with notes from Carolina Herrera’s Neroli Boheme edp, alongside rose and orris at its heart and pure oil sandalwood.

The brand also describes how the perfume shifts between woody red pistil and tonka for the base.

“With this new fragrance we pay homage to the lapis lazuli, a timeless emblem of success,” said Carolina A. Herrera, the brand’s Creative Director of Fragrances, and the founder’s daughter.

The product is said to launch on 5 September, exclusively at Harrods.
