Ciaté London celebrates spring with Dewy art installation in Hyde Park

The colour cosmetics brand teamed up with artist Saskia Gall to create the artwork using its Dewy foundation and blusher products

Make-up brand Ciaté London is welcoming in the spring season with a splash as it unveils a unique art installation in the UK capital's Hyde Park – created using products from its Dewy collection.

Artist Saskia Gall used a variety of blush and foundation products from Ciaté's Dewy range as well as pigment-changing paints to create the image, which she then covered with hydrochromic paint to give the illusion of a blank canvas, with the image only becoming visible when exposed to water.

Passers-by at The Serpentine in Hyde Park were then invited to splash the installation with water to reveal the finished piece, symbolising the growth and rebirth associated with the first days of spring.

Commenting on the piece, Gall said: “The Ciaté Dewy range was really fun to experiment with.

“I love how it brings out such a natural healthy glow on the skin and tried to capture that in the painting.

“The shine and glassy look it gives means I can really bring out the depth of colours and skin tones. Incorporating the wide range of foundation and blush colours in the actual painting really helped to make the painting come to life.”

A natural glow up

As the UK approaches the anniversary of its first Covid-19 lockdown, more and more consumers have been embracing the natural look in the past year, with four in ten women (42%) saying they now feel more confident in their own skin, which 66% put down to wearing less make-up, according to a survey by Ciaté.

In response, Ciaté has expanded its Dewy Range with the launch of its Dewy Skin Glass Glow Skin Tint (£26), an everyday base said to offer up to 12 hours of hydration with natural coverage and leave skin appearing smoother and brighter, helping users maintain a dewy-glass-like finish.

Charlotte Knight, CEO and founder of  Ciaté London, added: “The beginning of spring has a symbolic meaning for many of us, nature starts to wake up and new trends in fashion and beauty start to emerge.

“It seems like everything around us gets a bright splash of colour and is reborn - which is needed more now than ever, and we wanted to mark the occasion with this stunning piece of art in London’s Hyde Park.”

The foundation joins the brand's best selling Dewy Stix highlighter balms and Dewy Blush gel-balm cheek tints and is available now from ciatelondon.com.
