Clariant strengthens CSR programme in Asia Pacific

Supplier implements educational programmes in Indonesia and China


Swiss speciality chemicals supplier Clariant has strengthened its CSR strategy in the Asia Pacific region with a series of new initiatives.

Clariant Indonesia has launched its 2011 Responsible Care programme which includes a new series of community programmes based on education, safety, health and environment for people living close to its manufacturing plant in Tangerang. The company will provide annual scholarships to 32 underprivileged and gifted children, as well as 134 additional scholarships to students in the area.

In China, the company has participated in a series of events arranged by the East China University of Science and Technology and the Association of International Chemical Manufacturers to celebrate the International Year of Chemistry 2011.

“Clariant is a key player in the speciality chemicals field with a steadfast commitment to the Chinese market and we take great pride in fostering the next generation,” commented Per Sjoeberg, Clariant’s regional head of greater China.
