Clinique celebrates 'real' men with global campaign

#BehindTheFace campaign is fronted by explorer Levision Wood and actor Daniel Dae Kim

Clinique For Men has launched a global campaign that aims to support the real man ‘behind the face’ of each of its consumers.

The campaign, #BehindTheFace, is being fronted by Levision Wood (above) and Daniel Dae Kim (below).

Wood is an explorer, photographer and author, while Dae Kim is an actor, director and pioneer in Asian-American culture. Both men have achieved great successes in life, despite very different beginnings. They now both work to break down social barriers.

Through the campaign, Clinique For Men aims to encourage men to celebrate real lives and aspirations, and also to show that you do not need to have a conventional start in life to succeed.

The grooming tie-in comes with the underlying message that every man has the potential to have great skin and that Clinique’s products can help each consumer find the confidence to embrace themselves for who they are and who is truly ‘behind the face’.

As part of the campaign, Clinique For Men provides insight into Wood and Dae Kim’s lives through videos, which will go live on the website in September.

Wood and Dae Kim were selected for involvement in the campaign because they are said to embody what Clinique For Men stands for, being “authentic, successful, confident and caring”. They are both said to pursue a life that necessitates straightforward, quality skin care.

Dae Kim will promote Clinique’s Oil Control Mattifying Moisturiser, and Wood the new 2-in-1 Skin Hydrator + Beard Conditioner.

Dae Kim is the son of two Koreans who moved to the US with $200 to their name. He went on to achieve great success and today works to change perceptions of Asian-American men and break down historical barriers of race and stereotype.
