My client, an award-winning, market-leading force in Beauty devices has created this new dual-location role, based across their Cambridge R&D operation & Marketing & Design studio in central London.

Defining new innovation areas and opportunities to drive product upgrades through proposals, execution and analysis of research and existing data.

You’ll be responsible for managing the brand’s R&D calendar, working with external partners and MR agencies, collaborating across multi-functional teams.

Setting up and managing a Cambridge research panel; partnering with Science, Claims colleagues to translate the technical parameters into meaningful consumer benefits, with Marketing on meaningful technical performance parameters and with Design to determine customer needs, development of user profiles, target audiences and uses.

With an understanding of design and execution this is a job for a doer not just a deep thinker!

You will apply both qualitative and quantitative research methods such as task analysis, use error analysis, expert review and co-creation.

Presenting your research to the R&D & Marketing teams as well as senior stakeholders in the business, it’s essential that you have excellent written and verbal communication skills and are comfortable in this arena.

Experience within a similar consumer electronics environment is of obvious interest but other sectors considered could be the Food/Drink or the Pharma industries.

What is essential is your strong, tangible experience of working in consumer insights/human factors research as well as qualification at ideally advanced Degree level in one of the following fields: Human Factors, Ergonomics, Usability, Product Design, User Experience, Human Centred Design, Science of Engineering.
