The Copra awards lunch is organised well and executed brilliantly. The format seems traditional with reception, lunch followed by awards and it is the delivery that is so good. Copra is a club for major retailers, and like all good clubs makes it members feel welcome and provides that essential get together feeling while achieving an amazing amount for its chosen charity, Look Good Feel Better, for which it raised £38,000 at its ball in 2013.
Hosted at the Dorchester, the food was excellent and just the right amount for a lunch. Introduced by Debbie Trumper (chair of Copra) who was ably assisted by fellow Copra board members Julie Simpson (Boots) and Sandra Vallow (QVC) the awards went as follows:
Premium Skin Care
Clarins Double Serum Complete Age Control
Premium Cosmetic
Lancome Tient Visionnaire Duo
Male Fragrance
Invictus by Paco Rabanne
Male Fragrance Limited Distriburion
Comme de Garcons Blue Cedrat
Female Fragrance
Marc Jacobs Honey
Female Fragrance Limited Distribution
Jour d'Hermes
Bath and Body
Crabtree and Evelyn Tarocco Orange, Eucalyptus and Sage
The Gordon Whitehead award for outstanding individual was won by the outstanding Jo Malone who is a true beauty business superstar combining retailer, perfumer and entrepreneur at an extraordinary level. Harry Ganz of Garden Pharmacy fame also received a special award. The Supplier Service award was won by Puig.
In an awards twist, the charity Look Good Feel Better gave the awards' organiser Copra an award for outstanding work on behalf of the charity. I could not finish without mentioning Camilla Pascucci whose excellent organisational skills were in evidence throughout the afternoon.
