Cosmetic industry in focus at the UK’s largest packaging show

The UK’s largest annual event for the whole packaging supply chain, Packaging Innovations, Empack and Label&Print, returns to Birmingham’s NEC on 28 February & 1 March 2018.

The two-day event will showcase the most cutting-edge cosmetics packaging technologies and feature a free-to-attend educational seminar programme, with over 20 hours of CPD-accredited content and a dedicated Beauty Forum.

With over 290 exhibitors already signed up and more than 6,000 decision makers set to attend, the show is set to be the most innovative to date.

Innovation on Showfloor

Top suppliers, including Hunter Luxury Packaging, Royston Labels, Continental Bottle Company, Burgopak and Quadpack, were all quick to sign up, with many choosing the show to launch new products to the UK marketplace.

For example, Lageen Tubes will be launching its new digital decoration technology, offering a freedom for tube design. The new technology will be on display alongside the company’s large range of direct print plastic tubes solutions for the cosmetics, personal and hair care industries.

Digital label specialist, CS Labels will be presenting its hotly-anticipated range of stand-up pouches and cartons, which use digital metallic effect, hot and cold foiling and personalisation.

Custompac will display its innovative protective packaging solutions, which use versatile and lightweight expanded polystyrene, for a cost effective and environmentally friendly option. The stand will also display a range of solutions including corner protectors, EPS sheets, mug mailers and foam profiles.

Exciting Show Content

In addition to the packed showfloor, the beauty and cosmetic industry will centre of attention on the Industry Forum Stage as part of the Beauty Forum, which offers a jam-packed schedule of talks from industry thought leaders.

Imogen Matthews, Managing Director at IMI Associates, will kick off the programme with her presentation, ‘The Beauty Packaging Paradox’. Her session will explore the challenges facing packaging designers and brands in developing aspirational, yet sustainable packaging, which is affordable.

Ronan Stafford, Lead Analyst at Global Data, will also be exploring the issue of sustainable packaging within the cosmetic industry, when he presents his talk, titled: ‘Two Revolutions: is the rise of smart packaging compatible with the shift to sustainability?’

Vincent Villeger, Luxury Creative Consult, will present ‘Creating a Dream’, exploring the importance of consistency across all channels when launching a new cosmetic product. Adopting a creative standpoint, the presentation will examine what opportunities and challenges this brings about for packaging stakeholders.

Also forming part of the beauty parade is Matthew Miller, Business Director at James Cropper, who will join Floral Street’s Founder, Michelle Feeney to present ‘The Floral Street Story’. Their talk will explore how the company manages to achieve both style and sustainability in its packaging.
