Cosmoprof Asia's co-organisers UBM Asia Ltd and BolognaFiere Group had many reasons to be confident about the B2B beauty event's 18th edition, which took place from 13-15 November at its traditional venue, the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center. Exhibitors numbered 2,168, an increase of 10% on 2012. While visitor numbers have yet to be confirmed, pre-registration suggests that footfall exceeded 55,000 and included representatives from global beauty giants Coty, Estée Lauder, LVMH, Procter & Gamble and Unilever.

Commenting on the pre-registration figures, Michael Duck, Director and Executive Vice President of UBM Asia, told Cosmetics International: “It's a little higher than we expected, given the [economic] problems around the world at the moment – so it gives us a lot of confidence that people will be meeting the right people here. You can feel this when you're on the floor – there is good electricity and people are really happy to be here.”
