The Fragrance Foundation’s 16th annual awards, also known as the FiFis, were held last night at The Dorchester Hotel in London. The event, which was in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust, was attended by the glitterati of the fragrance industry.
The top awards on the night were taken by Marc Jacob’s Daisy (Coty), for best new female prestige fragrance and Tom Ford’s Tom Ford for Men (Estée Lauder) for best new male prestige fragrance. Jo Malone’s White Jasmine & Mint Cologne, also a Lauder-owned brand, was a winner in the best new male fragrance in limited distribution category, while the female equivalent of this was won by Gucci’s Gucci fragrance (P&G).
It was a triumphant night for Procter & Gamble, who walked away with five awards overall. The company also picked up awards for Valentino’s Rock ‘n Rose Couture (best new female fragrance packaging), Christina Aguilera (The Perfume Shop ‘People’s Choice’ celebrity fragrance), Dolce e Gabbana’s Light Blue (best new fragrance commercial) and Cyclodextrin’s Longevity (the Murray Pearce award for innovation).
