A number of the global beauty company’s fragrances will be featured in this summer’s multi-sensory exhibition

Coty and beer company Peroni Nastro Azzurro are teaming up with Somerset House as principal partners with additional support from fragrance house Givaudan to educate the public about the history of fragrance.

From 21 June to 17 September London’s Somerset House will be transformed into a multi-sensory experience to introduce guests to a vibrant new scent scene.

The exhibition, which is called ‘Perfume: A Sensory Journey Through Contemporary Scent’ will include a section dedicated to historical innovator Francois Coty who reinvented the perfumer’s fragrance palette.

The curators have designed the show to take visitors on a journey through 20th century scents to the present day.

Chypre de Coty for example, which was created in 1917, is often cited as a reference point for many other perfumes, while ck One kicked off the clean scent trend in 1994.

The show will include 10 perfumes that have shaken up the fragrance industry and guests will be invited into a working laboratory to experience the skill and science behind scent-making for themselves.
