Coty has announced that its Chief Supply Officer and Head of R&D Richard Jones is leaving the company after two years.

Jones joined the maker of CoverGirl and Rimmel in 2019 and has been praised for maintaining operations throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.

"He leaves Coty a more efficient and agile business, with resources better focused on what we do best: creating and delivering world-class, innovative beauty products for consumers across the globe," said Sue Y. Nabi, CEO of Coty.

Jones added: "I am very proud of the way the team, one of the strongest I’ve ever worked with, and everyone at Coty has responded to the challenges brought about by the pandemic.

"Coty’s progress toward becoming a more modern and focused business has called for new and innovative approaches. The situation has made us think differently and to be more creative."

The Amsterdam-headquartered brand owner has not confirmed Jones' successor, but instead announced that his role will be divided into two positions: Supply Chain and R&D.
