Ulta Beauty, the US’ largest beauty retailer, has rolled out a new service for consumers to shop its products during the Covid-19 lockdown.

The Curbside Pick-Up scheme is an extension of Ulta’s Buy Online Pick Up in Store service, enabling shoppers to collect their online orders from 350 selected retailers.

Ulta Beauty was one of the first beauty retailers to close its stores due to the coronavirus pandemic.

According to Ulta, the 350 stores were chosen based on evaluation of local market conditions, and the retailer was guided by local and state authorities.

CEO Mary Dillon expects to expand the service to more locations in the US.

“We look forward to expanding this service to additional stores in the coming weeks,” said Dillon.

“To do this right, we have and will continue to implement robust health and safety protocols with our local store associates to ensure all orders are handled following CDC [Centers for Disease Control and Prevention] guidelines, limiting contact between our guests and teams.”

Once lockdown restrictions are eased, Ulta said it is likely to stagger the reopening of its stores depending on the state’s safety orders.

“We are working diligently towards the time when we can welcome all our guests and associates back to Ulta Beauty with new safety processes in place. Until then, let’s take good care of each other,” added Dillon.
