DSM personal care appoints senior scientific advisor sun care

DSM announces the appointment of Mr. Uli Osterwalder as Senior Scientific Advisor Sun Care

DSM’s Personal Care business, one of the industry’s leading suppliers of ingredients and innovative solutions for beauty care products, today announces the appointment of Mr. Uli Osterwalder as Senior Scientific Advisor Sun Care, with effect from 1st June 2016.

Mr. Osterwalder brings with him extensive knowledge and experience of bringing new UV products to markets across the globe. In his new role he will contribute to the key area of further developing DSM Personal Care’s position in the sun care segment by promoting DSM’s sun care brand PARSOL among industry stakeholders and customers, and will work together with DSM experts to develop and bring to market new UV technology.

Mr. Osterwalder has a diploma in Chemical Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich (Switzerland). Later he obtained an MSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Houston (Texas, USA). With more than 35 years of experience in process development within the home and personal care industry, Uli Osterwalder has been responsible for several major projects, including the launch of two UV-absorbers. He is a member of the ISO UV protection standards working group on SPF and UVA-PF and a UV Protection Lecturer at the Intensive Course for Dermato-Cosmetic Sciences, Brussels. He is also author and co-author of more than 30 scientific publications on the subject of UV protection and sunscreens.
