The Valencia-based cosmetic research laboratory, founded in October 2021, closes its first full year of life by far exceeding the initial expectations of the business plan

The company has been able to carry out 157 projects throughout the year, representing a turnover close to one million euros, thanks to the studies developed from the laboratory department and the clinical department, for active ingredient manufacturers and end-cosmetic formulation companies.

Thirty percent of the turnover comes from the national territory, while the remaining 70% comes from international customers, with special presence in Central Europe, North America, and South America, with a minority presence in Africa, Asia, and Oceania.

"It has been a very intense year in terms of work and stress, but we are extremely proud that we have been able to pull through with flying colours and finish the year with the numbers we ended it with. We doubled the best of our forecasts, which indicates that the team has worked hard and that we are able to meet the needs of our customers with a high-quality service." - CEO and founder David Gonzalez comments. "Also, we must not undermine the fact that the cosmetic market is undergoing a huge increase in testing and evaluation of efficacy and functionality. The small customer needs to gain a foothold in a complex market and the large customer needs to position its product above its competitors, so both types of customer need R&D to be able to claim the possibilities of their active ingredients and products with innovation. Efficacy studies, both in vitro and in vivo, which a decade ago were considered an added value only accessible to a few, have now become a necessity, accessible to any type of customer thanks to the diversification of the techniques used."

Dermaclaim started 2022 with a staff of 4 workers, which has grown to 7, with the latest hire in October. The workforce is expected to grow to 9 workers throughout 2023, with hiring taking place in both departments for the second and third quarters of the year. In order to keep with its growth and showcast their R&D testing services, the company will be present at Incosmetics Global in Barcelona (March, 28th – 30th ), Suppliers’ Day in New York (May, 2 nd – 3 rd ), Cosmetorium Barcelona (October 18th – 19th ), and Incosmetics Asia in Bangkok (November, 7th – 9th ).
