Celebrity fragrances aren’t quite the money-spinners they once were. When actress Elizabeth Taylor launched her debut scent White Diamonds in 1991, under the guidance of Elizabeth Arden, the concept was a novelty and one that the public bought into in a big way. It’s rumoured that Taylor went on to make more than $1bn (and counting) from sales of her floral scent – more than she made from all her acting roles combined.
